A dedication to Preston Ayres

This year’s Sportive is dedicated to the memory of Preston Ayres, who died in December 2025.

Whilst Willen Hospice organises the event, Preston was the driving force behind the routes themselves. He carefully planned, rode and checked each route, ensuring they were accurate and fully signposted on the day. His dedication, attention to detail, and passion for the Sportive were fundamental to its success year after year.

In honour of Preston and his incredible contribution, all routes for this year’s sportive have been dedicated to his memory. By taking part, you’ll not only be enjoying a fantastic day of cycling, but you’ll also be helping us celebrate and remember someone who meant so much to this event and to so many people.
