Maintaining our standards
Having set our standards, we have mechanisms in place to assure ourselves that we are meeting them.
Quality as standard
The prescribed Care Quality Commission standards are monitored by senior members of the clinical team. The appropriate policies and procedures associated with the standards are reviewed regularly.
We have established key roles to ensure standards are maintained for specific areas:
Caldicott Guardian
A Caldicott Guardian is a senior person within a health or social care organisation who makes sure that the personal information about those who use its services is used legally, ethically, and appropriately, and that confidentiality is maintained. Our Caldicott Guardian is Kikelomo Pinheiro, Director of Clinical Services.
Registered Manager
The CQC requires all healthcare organisations to have a Registered Manager. The role of a Registered Manager is to deliver the clinical and operational imperatives of the service and ensure that every aspect of the organisation complies with CQC regulations.
Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer
A Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer (CDAO) is a position within an organisation that is responsible for all aspects of controlled drugs management within their organisation. Our CDAO is Marilyn David.
Data Protection Officer
Data Protection Lead Our Data Protection Lead assists the Hospice to monitor internal compliance, informs and advises on data protection obligations, provides advice regarding Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and acts as a contact point for people whose data we handle and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
