Frequently asked questions
We ask for a suggested regular donation of either £10 a month or £120 a year. Your donation will pay for the leaf and the engraving, after that you can increase, decrease or stop your regular donation at any time. You can have the leaf on the Tree of Life for as long as you wish and we promise we will look after it for you.
No, but continuing your regular donation alongside hundreds of others who have leaves on our Tree of Life, will help support the year-round work of the Hospice. Your gift could pay towards physiotherapy to help patients walk again and visit the lake or support children’s bereavement sessions for young people not coping very well with the loss of someone. If you choose to donate regularly, you will be helping us to continue to care for the years and months ahead, for when people need us most.
You can expect to receive your leaf within 2 weeks of your order being received.
There is a maximum of 23 characters per line, including spaces. Four lines are available and we recommend using the first line for the name of the person you would like to remember.
You can keep your leaf on the Tree of Life for as long as you wish or collect it if you’d prefer to keep it closer to you.
Yes, many of the leaves are owned by families and friends who did not have a loved one cared for by us. We welcome all of our local Milton Keynes community.
No. Whilst we understand the desire to leave temporary dedications, it is very important that families and friends understand that it is not permitted to create shrines on or around the Tree of Life. There are many reasons why we do not let this happen.
Our aim is to create a beautiful, well managed area of remembrance. Our grounds are not graveyards or cemeteries, and with this in mind, we do not permit items to be placed around the tree that would not occur naturally in this environment. This includes photographs, toys, cards, poems or cut flowers. Even decorative rocks and pebbles can cause damage to our machinery which is not only dangerous but is then very costly to repair.
If you need any further help or have any questions, please do get in touch at supportercare@willen-hospice.org.uk or call 01908 303050 – who’ll be happy to assist you in any way she can.
Your donations make all the difference
We need to raise £9.6 million each year to provide our services free of charge.
We’re grateful for every single donation we receive, no matter how big or small. Your kindness means we can continue supporting people in our community during what may be the toughest time of their lives.
