Kate Broadhurst
Chief Executive
Kate joined the team at Willen following a 23 year career with the John Lewis Partnership where she has held various leadership positions. These include senior roles in Retail, HR, Marketing & Communications, Strategy & Governance as well as leading several multi million pound turnover retail businesses. Kate has also held various Board Director positions in both the voluntary and private sector, all based within Milton Keynes. Kate and her family have lived in Milton Keynes for 15 years and she is really passionate about making a positive difference to our community through her role as CEO at Willen Hospice.
Akash Chatterjee
Director of Finance and IT
Akash is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) with over 25 years of experience in senior finance roles across Big 4 audit firms, FTSE 100 entities as well as listed medium sized corporate entities. In a career, that has spanned three countries, Akash has driven efficiencies within finance functions, implementing processes and controls within organisations as well as consistently delivering on projects with stringent deadlines. Outside of work, Akash enjoys spending time with his family, in particularly travelling with his wife and daughter exploring the National Parks across the USA and Canada.
Ali Lowe
Director of People and Organisational Development
Ali joined Willen as Director of People and OD in 2022 where she oversees the Human Resource, Learning and Organisational Development and Volunteering teams. Ali has spent all of her career working in People Services across hospitality, the public sector and the NHS where she honed her OD skills. She has worked with some inspirational thought leaders who have influenced and shaped her approach and brings a wealth of experience to the Hospice. Ali is passionate about creating great cultures where everyone can thrive which in turn delivers the best experience for our patients and their families.
Kikelomo Pinheiro
Director of Clinical Services
A qualified pharmacist since 1996, Kike has held clinical leadership roles across the pharmaceutical, hospital, mental health and community health services. Before joining Willen in 2022, Kike was the Milton Keynes Borough Lead for Pharmacy and Medicines Management in CNWL NHS Foundation Trust. Kike is extremely passionate about palliative and end of life care, and in her role as Director of Clinical Services, she ensures that the Hospice retains its unique quality of affording time to care for patients and their loved ones in a holistic manner so people can fulfil their desire to die well. Kike is committed to continuing to ensure fair access for palliative care for all of our community and to ensure our position as expert providers of specialist palliative care supports the wider healthcare system through advice, education and training. In her spare time, Kike is an active member of her church where she works with and mentors young people. She also loves reading, running and period dramas.
Richard Alsop
Director of Income, Operations & Governance
Before joining Willen, Richard held Executive Director roles in the NHS for over 20 years, where he was responsible for commissioning care, leading the development of strategy, and delivering transformation programmes, leading to improved patient outcomes and better value. He has an MBA in health service management, and is passionate about investing in people and teams in order to help them develop, and be the best they can be. Outside of work, Richard’s interests centre on a love of football and travel. He is a season ticket holder at Northampton Town FC.
