Striving for excellence

High standards to be proud of

We’re proud that our standards are high, whether we are delivering our specialist care or out taking part in fundraising activities, caring for patients in their homes or counselling bereaved children. We base many of our standards on those required by national external bodies.

As a healthcare provider, we are regulated by the Care Quality Commission. The Care Quality Commission is an independent regulator that ensures hospitals, care homes, dental and GP surgeries, and all other care services in England provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, and high-quality care, and encourages them to make improvements. Our most recent overall CQC rating was ‘Good’

Willen Hospice is a charity that raises funds to support our work. We are therefore required to register with The Charity Commission and The Fundraising Regulator. We follow The Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice. This sets the standards that apply to fundraising carried out by all charitable institutions and third-party fundraisers in the UK.

A key element of our fundraising activity is the Willen Hospice Lottery and as such we are registered with The Gambling Commission.

Lastly, but not least, we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. We process personal data belonging to our patients and their families, our employees and volunteers, and our supporters and customers. Our practices comply with Data Protection legislation.
