Our Journey so far

We have been caring for people in Milton Keynes for over 40 years.

Our story on film

Willen Hospice was the first charity of its kind in Milton Keynes, founded in 1981 by Dr Marjorie Reid and District Nurse Dorothy Jell. It still remains the only Hospice caring for adults with life-limiting illness in the local area.
Our film, ‘Willen Hospice: Caring for MK since 1981’ explores how we have evolved to be an integral part of the local community. The film, which was created in 2022, celebrates four decades of the Hospice, bringing together present and former staff, volunteers, fundraisers and relatives of those who have benefited from the Hospice’s care. The film was created by Living Archive MK and funded by a National Lottery Heritage grant.
