Psychological support for patients
We’re here to listen
We take time to assess every patient individually to make sure your needs are met. Our aim is to either provide you with specialist support ourselves or, where needed, signpost you to another organisation that can provide specialist support in helping you cope with your situation, with a view to improving your psychological and emotional wellbeing. Sometimes, talking to someone who’s not a family member or friend can be a great help. Our specialist Psychology and Counselling team are here if you or a loved one are facing difficulties with coping or adjusting following a palliative diagnosis. You’ll be able to talk to someone within the team about accessing tailored support that aims to alleviate any distress.
If you’re feeling stressed or anxious, our Complementary Therapy team can provide group relaxation sessions or one-to-one treatments. These will help you take time for yourself and learn strategies to manage your stress or anxiety. We also offer groups and education sessions within our Living Well programme that discuss how you are feeling and give you the opportunity to share your experiences with others in a similar situation. Our Social Care team can provide empathetic listening, which allows you to express how you are feeling in a supportive environment.
