The Big Willen Hospice Quiz: Trivia becomes life-changing care

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Big Willen Hospice Quiz on Thursday night. This annual event is always a highlight on our busy calendar, and it was clear from the turnout that our volunteers, sponsors, and teams agree, returning year after year to make it a sell-out success each time. We were delighted to hear from Willen Hospice’s Chief Executive, Kate Broadhurst, and Commercial Director, Ranjit Singh, who both shared their heartfelt thanks for our community’s support of our Willen at Home appeal.

Over three fun-filled hours, 40 teams competed across eight rounds of trivia, with topics ranging from Geography and Food and Drink to Landmarks, Music, and Train Travel.

On arrival, teams were greeted with snacks, generously provided by Rashan Pani MK. During the half-time interval, our quizzers’ brains were refueled with light bites, courtesy of MK Buffet Village. The music round, sponsored by the Marshall Group, brought the evening to a fantastic finale, who also sent a team along to join the fun. Find out more about sponsorship opportunities.

The Big Willen Hospice Quiz is so much more than just a night of questions and answers—it’s a celebration of community spirit. The generosity of our quizzers, who took their chances in games and raffles, and purchased scratchcards and drinks from our quiz bar, helped us raise an incredible £7100. These funds will directly support our vital services, including Willen at Home, and provide expert care to local families when and where they need us.

Congratulations to our winning team, The Grateful 8 who claimed the top spot with an impressive 76 points. A special thank you to Quizmasters Mike and Angela Rhodes, our dedicated volunteers, and the Willen Hospice Events team, whose hard work made the evening possible.
