Fund local care
For when it matters most
Why your entry matters
At Willen Hospice, our care is provided free of charge, but providing this care comes at a cost to us – £11.8 million a year. Just 12.2% of our funding comes from ongoing NHS funding, so we rely on the rest coming from you, our generous community.
One simple and fun way you can support us is by entering our Winter Draw, with 104 cash prizes up for grabs. Entry costs just £1 and helps us be there for local people like Geoff and his late partner, Sue.
Sue was inspired to start fundraising for the Hospice in 2006, after her son received end-of-life care in our In-Patient Unit. For many years Sue collected our Hospice Lottery payments from Hanslope residents, raising over £70,000 for the Hospice altogether. Sadly, Sue needed our care herself last winter.
“I’ll always remember that morning. I was sitting in her room holding her hand. The doctor came in for a moment and sat down to talk to us. She looked at Sue and realised she’d passed. I couldn’t let go of Sue’s hand for an hour and a quarter afterwards.
“I’d like to thank the Hospice for what they did for Sue, and how they’re supporting me now.”

“I was absolutely thrilled to receive a £1,000 cheque and even more excited when it arrived on my 50th birthday. It meant I had another reason to celebrate!”

“When Mum died, we decided we would play the Hospice Lottery.
We didn’t do it to win; it was just our way of making a donation. I’ve won two lots of £100.’

“My nan used to play the
Willen Hospice lottery until she died a few years ago, age 100. She was a great example to me, so I decided I would also sign up and play every week.”
