How much can we raise in September?

Fund local care
For when it matters most
This challenge is entirely yours
Unlike a marathon or a skydive, where everyone faces the same finish line, you set your own step target, one that stretches you personally but is always within reach. Whether you walk 4,000 steps a day or 13,000, this challenge meets you exactly where you are.
At the end of September, you’ll have the satisfaction of completing something personal and meaningful — knowing that every step you took raised vital funds for people in your local community, at one of the hardest times of their lives.
It’s free to enter, needs no special equipment beyond what most people already have on their phone or wrist, and fits around your normal daily routine. No training plans, no early starts, no pressure.
Once you’ve signed up we’ll send you a steptracker, link to your fundraising page a social media graphic to share and sponsorship form to get you stepping!
Walking for wellbeing
While many of us may walk for fitness, walking offers many opportunities to take care of your wellbeing. Our Wellbeing programme offers our patients, their families and carers a personalised, holistic approach to wellbeing, through therapies, groups and activities. Helping our patients to live well for however long that may be.
Geoff is a regular at our Thursday walking group.
“I’ve been with the group every Thursday morning. They’re very nice people. I have a good chat with everybody there and we walk up to the lake. It’s nice because when we come back we have tea, coffee, cake and biscuits. “
Here are just some of the benefits of walking:
- Boosts your heart health
- Melts away stress
- Helps you sleep better
- Sharpens your mind
- Get out in the great outdoors
- Connects you with others
- Funds care for local families
We rely heavily on our community to help raise £9.6 million every year to fund our care, please help by raising £50 this Steptember.
Be inspired
Three achievable targets, each mapped to a corner of Milton Keynes. Choose the one that suits you, then step out and fundraise for Willen Hospice.
The Willen Wander
That's about the same as walking around Willen Lake North twice! A gentle, achievable target to kick off your Steptember challenge, perfect for a lunchtime stroll or a first step into fundraising.
The Roundabout Roam
That's roughly the distance from Willen Hospice into the heart of Centre:MK and back, a proper roam all the way "up city". A great target to build momentum and steadily grow your steps and your fundraising.
The Moo-Moo-ch
That's about the same as walking from Willen Hospice out to the Concrete Cows and back, one of MK's most iconic landmarks and the inspiration for our famous Moo events. A proper test of stamina, and a brilliant excuse for a group walk as a warm-up to Midday Moo in October!

£7
Could pay for a patient’s carer to come to our monthly afternoon tea, to ease the stress of looking after someone with a life-limiting illness.

£24
Could pay for an In-Patient Unit nurse to be on shift for an hour.
