Last weekend we proudly celebrated the reopening of our newly refurbished Buckingham shop, which now offers an even wider and more exciting range of items for local shoppers.
The much-loved store, which has been part of the Buckingham community since 2009, now has a more modern, customer-friendly layout, showcasing a bigger selection of fashion, accessories, homeware and furniture. The refreshed look has been carefully designed to highlight the sought-after brands and quality of items available, making it easier for shoppers to find everything from everyday essentials and outfits for special occasions, to one-of-a-kind treasures.
As Buckingham’s only charity store selling furniture, the shop continues to play an important role for local residents – particularly students and those furnishing new homes – and the improved space allows the team to better display these popular items.
Located in Meadow Walk, the shop is within easy walking distance of several car parks, making it simple for customers to drop in to browse and buy, as well as bring along good quality pre-loved items to donate.
Providing our free, expert care for local people affected by life-limiting illness costs £11 million each year. More than a quarter of this is funded through our retail operations, highlighting how heavily we rely on local support.
Callum Anderson, MP for Buckingham and Bletchley, was at the reopening. “It was a pleasure to join the team at Willen Hospice for the reopening of their Buckingham shop and to see the fantastic transformation that has taken place,” said Callum.
“I recently visited the new Willen Hospice premises in Oxley Park as well, and have seen first-hand the important role these shops play in our communities. Every donation, purchase and volunteer hour helps support the outstanding care that Willen Hospice provides to local people and their families in the hardest of times.
“The refurbished shop is a real asset to Buckingham and our high street. My thanks go to the dedicated staff and volunteers whose hard work makes this possible, and I encourage local residents to pop in, have a look around and support this incredible charity.”
