Residents in Brooklands now have a new way to support local hospice care, and shop sustainably, as we open the doors to our latest shop.
Located on Fen Street, just off the busy Brooklands Square, the shop combines sustainable shopping and community impact. Customers can explore a wide range of high-quality, pre-loved ladies’ and men’s clothing, as well as accessories and homewares – all affordably priced and refreshed daily. Designed as a welcoming, community-focused space, we hope to connect with existing supporters and reach new customers in the area.
Ian Palmer, Associate Director of Retail, said, “Opening our fourth new shop proves one thing. Once we start, we don’t slow down. Local centres like Brooklands Square have real energy and community spirit, and being part of that gives people an easy, everyday way to support the Hospice. Plus, it gives everyone another excuse for a bit of retail therapy.”
It costs us £11 million each year to provide expert care and support for local people affected by life-limiting illness, with only 12.7% met by ongoing NHS funding. As a registered charity, we rely heavily on the generosity of our supporters to raise the remaining £9.6 million annually. This means every item donated, every volunteer hour given and every purchase made in the new shop will help to fund vital care for the local community.
The shop is located at Unit 14, 371 Fen Street, Brooklands, Milton Keynes, MK10 7NH and has plenty of free parking. Opening hours will be 9am–5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am–4pm on Sunday. To keep up to date with shop events and sales, follow Willen Hospice Shops on Facebook and Instagram.
If you’d like to get involved in running the new shop, we are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference, meet new people and be part of a team. For more information, pop into the shop, visit our volunteering page or call 01908 306998.
